Coral Bay to Carnarvon (Saturday 15th May 2010)

Travel Day. Coral Bay to Carnarvon - 237km.
Another easy pack up and on the road by 10am. Next stop Carnarvon - 'Horticultural District'.
Entering the outskirts of Carnarvon you can't miss the huge satellite dish followed by the banana plantations.
We called into the caravan park and set up camp. Super friendly people who ran this park. It was a really nice welcome after quite a few hours in the car and full of advice on what to see in Carnarvon. A pretty town with old buildings set on the water front. A 'must do' in Carnarvon is to eat a chocolate coated banana. We wasted no time and headed down to Morel's to buy our bananas and we weren't disappointed. Elizabeth and I chose chocolate coated mango. YUMMM
We drove down to Carnarvon's One Mile Jetty and walked along it in the freezing cold wind coming off the Indian Ocean. We couldn't remember when we felt this cold!
On the way home saw Bassett Way and of course had to take a photo. Finished off the day by driving around a circuit of huge plantations of bananas, mango's, grapes and a whole lot more, known as The Loop.
