Busselton to Margaret River (Tuesday 1st June 2010)

Travel Day.
Busselton to Margaret River 49km.

Took it easy today. First stop was Simmo's Ice Creamery which Elizabeth and I had to taste test before we left Busselton. Yes, there was a cow!
Headed for Margaret River and stopped at lots of the local attractions, including anywhere that had COW'S!!!! (Look at the COW GALLERY page for all the photo's of cow's so far). I'll just add this last photo of this cow because it's special. This is "The Roving Cow", and we happened to come across it just as it was being moved to a new location. Lucky us.
Had some lunch in town then later in the arvo made up our minds we'd stay here overnight. We'd been told about "Big Valley Campsite", a working sheep farm 10min out of town that was meant to be great. We weren't disappointed when we got there. The 450acre farm is hidden amongst rolling hills and is bordered by state forest. The note on the office door said "If office is unattended head down to MUZZA'S CAMP, set yourselves up and we'll come down and see you later on". No-one was in the office so we went down to Muzza's Camp and chose a site over looking the hills and set up. This place WAS great. The camp kitchen was in a shed. It reminded me so much of the sheds on our farm at Cheshunt. We ran into people we'd seen before in Kalbarri and caught up on all the travel news since we'd last seen each other. After dinner that night we lit the camp fire in "the pit" and sat up chatting to other campers around the fire for the night. The night was cold, the fire was roaring and the night sky was filled with millions of stars. This is camping!!
