Pemberton to Albany ( Friday 4th June 2010)

Travel Day.

Pemberton to Walpole 128 km.
Misty rain falling. Girls did homework in camp kitchen while we packed trailer.
11.30am on the road.
Northcliffe to Albany 211km. Drove through town of Northcliffe at lunchtime and the entire time we did not see one human being, not one car on the road or for that matter no sign of life what so ever! Yes it was cold but that's ridiculous.
Stopped at Walpole for lunch and then 16km further down the road arrived at The Valley of The Giants Tree Top Walk. I was terrified. It had some thing to do with the 40 metre above the ground suspended walkway and the swaying of the main poles that made me just a tad worried. It's great to be up in the forest canopy if you're a bird! Pete and the girls loved it.

Holding on for dear life!

Dwarfed by a Tingle Tree.

Arrived into Albany about 5.30pm. It began to drizzle as we were setting up camp and so decided to take the advice of the lady at Information Centre and had some great fish and chips
down at the marina at The Squid Shack.
