Ravensthorpe to Esperance (Wednesday 9th June 2010)

Travel Day.
Ravensthorpe to Esperance 187km.
I was scared to look out the door this morning after last night's dunny sight. Anyway, of course I did and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice morning and we were in a fairly nice bush come junkyard type setting. A bit quirky but nice. There were pot plants with old work boots shoved in them that probably housed a few red back spiders in them, but I could see what angle the owner was coming from.......I think it's called......art! Old bits of metal hung from the bathroom ceiling with a few other unrecognizable pieces to make a mobile. A window panel was missing from above one of the showers which gave the, "let the outdoors in" kind of feeling. Well, I'm guessing you get my gist. I don't think we'll be back here in a hurry. To top it off, we drove to the service station to fuel up before leaving and found it was like the hub of the town. Every man and his dog was there. This place was weird.
Dunnies out the front of front office.

After chatting to the old bloke next door we were finally on the road at 10am. The weather was overcast but no rain until Munglinup and then the rain fell. By 12 noon we had arrived in Esperance. Because it was so early in the day we had the luxury of checking out some caravan parks before making a decision. Ended up at 'Croakers', alittle out of town, but it was the cleanest and the facilities were good. Took a quick tour around town. It was bigger than we thought and it looked like it could have some decent coffee shops!
Had a roast lamb for dinner. Oh so yummy.
