Leave Tennant Creek 9.30am. Only news to report from last night was girls found a huge huntsman spider on the 'wall' above their heads. Once we got rid of it they went straight to sleep with no fuss which tells me they are getting used to the many varieties of bugs we've encountered during the night and day.
I was woken in the night by police van patrolling caravan park. As you can imagine I didn't sleep to well after that. Alarm bells were ringing in my head! Anyway I'm writing this so I survived the night to tell the tale.
Arrived into Elliot for lunch. There are Aboriginal people sprawled about the place everywhere and even though they have been harmless I just can't get used to it. Once again made everybody eat lunch super quick so we could get back into the safety of our car. (Petrol $1.80). Next we stopped at Newcastle Waters to look at two heritage listed buildings, a general store and a pub. I love old broken down buildings so they're all beautiful to me but Pete and the girls don't share my sentiment. The main event of the day was arriving at the Daly Waters Pub around 3.20pm. It's as quirky as everybody says. We loved it. The girls couldn't get over all the bra's, jocks, hats and thongs hanging from anywhere and everywhere. Pete met up with an old work colleague and his family. Enjoyed the 'Barra and Beef BBQ' and then the rest of the night was spent chatting to Mark and Kelly and their three girls. Stinking hot night.
Grace, Pete and girls!!! We are loving the journey. The water hole is beautiful, just right for a dip. Love the bras and all hanging bits, quite unique!
ReplyDeleteBella and Louis say hi to the girls. They want to write a letter so am now explaining that you are not in the one spot and you might miss it!
Keep writing...loving it.
